Add Virtual Machine Additions to the library SCVMM uses VM Additions, software drivers that maximize performance and provide a better user interface (UI) experience within a virtual machine. 1. In Windows Explorer, browse to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual Server\Virtual Machine Additions\. This is the location of the ISO files VMAdditions.iso and Precompact.iso, which will be added to the library server. The Precompact.iso file prepares VHDs to be compacted, and comes with the Virtual Server installation. 2. Create a folder for the files by browsing to \\dc_srv\msscvmmLibrary, creating a new folder there, and naming it ISOs. 3. Select VMAddition and Precompact, and then press Ctrl+C to copy both files.
